About Alan
My journey into the world of experiencing art as an artist began in 2008. With lessons from a local art teacher, I soon found that trumpet practice and performance dates, plus training for all fifty state marathons, had to be placed along with spending time completing a piece of art. I had been hooked. Completing a canvas of art was not only rewarding, but similar in many ways to my other two passions in that a lack of practice, patience, and creative tools can make or break the finished art piece, race, or performance.
In our travels to many beautiful scenes across the U.S.,
I took many photographs that contributed to my expanding portfolio. I found I possessed a deep appreciation for lighthouses, and many have become even more special through several of my paintings. Along the path to my retirement days, I have tried different mediums, but now I gravitate to Golden Open Acrylics as my favorite.
My wife and I have had a home in Coquille for many years as a summer home, but now, as of 2025, we have sold our home in Yucaipa, CA, and changed our residence to Coquille, OR.
