Teresa Johnston

TJ is a Coos Bay-based artist who specializes in pen & Ink, watercolor and pastel landscapes. With a degree in graphic design, she began working for a small independent greeting card company early in her career. She wrote, designed, and illustrated the humorous card line and eventually bought the business and enjoyed working in that industry for over 30 years.

TJ moved to New Orleans in 2004 to explore other artistic adventures. Being inspired by the culture, diversity, and atmosphere of the city she began creating mixed media pieces and participating in the local art markets including White Linen Night. She also exhibited at Sylvia Schmidt Gallery on Julia Street. In 2018 TJ moved to the Oregon Coast, “The light and stunning beauty of Oregon, especially the coast, inspires my art. Whenever driving, I must allow extra time to take in the amazing scenery, stop to sketch, take photos, and plot my next piece of art.
