With no formal training in art, I have kept my hands busy with some kind of project or another. I have spent the past few years working with wood and carving ostrich, emu and rhea eggs. These skills lead me easily to transfer them to working with the hard shell gourd.

It was in 2014 when my sis brought me some of these gourds and said, “Have fun!” Well, I guess I did...and I have been fascinated with them ever since! Discovering the many different ways to execute certain designs keeps me wanting to explore what I can accomplish next.

In December of 2014 I was accepted as a member of Art by the Sea Gallery, and have continued to learn, grow, and explore other mediums. Currently my main focus is in working with the gourds and carving wood panels. My inspiration comes from our amazing coastal beauty and the nature that surrounds us all as well as my fellow artists here in our beautiful gallery.

The work displayed here is a representation of the artist’s work and these pieces may not be currently available
