About the Artist

Ava Richey is a native of Colorado has lived, among other places, Texas, Louisiana, and Wyoming before moving to Oregon to live on the coast. A knitter and weaver, she now is active in the visual art community as a painter, teacher and motivator. She is inspired by nature’s beauty in all parts of life.

Ava is a member of the Pastel Society of Oregon and her paintings are available from Art by the Sea Gallery, and the 2nd Street Gallery and various other venues in Southern Oregon.

Ava is one of the founding members of the Art By The Sea Gallery and is also active in the local community, in charge of the South Coos Hospital art shows and involved in a number of other art events.

Art by the Sea Gallery and Studio is hosting a reception for gallery member, Ava Richey, on Saturday, December 3rd, 2-4:00 pm.

Our Holiday Tables are also up and ready for you to find original, hand-crafted gifts, as well as the member’s show, “Black & White.” The gallery has a wide variety of original artwork, pottery, photography, jewelry, cards, prints, scarves, woven goods, felted hats and much more.
