 Venture into the wonder of glass casting in this fun and relaxing workshop with Anne Sobbota.   Participants will create two beautiful 3D pieces in transparent glass, by using Colour de Verre frit casting molds.  Anne will be covering: mold prep, filling, adding details, and kiln schedule basics.

**Note: ALL students will be required to wear an instructor provided N95 mask while filling molds.  Location: 525 11th St SE, Bandon. (From Art by the Sea Gallery, follow Fillmore up the hill to Stop sign and turn right on 11th St.   The studio is the white cottage located across from Bandon Supply.)

 Add drama, depth, and detail to your fused glass, without the stress of glass cutting.   Through the layering of fiber papers, intricate reflective impressions can be formed on the underside of fired the glass panels. In this workshop, participants will work with a single subject, transparent glass, and fiber papers, to create a detailed and dynamic 8”x10” panel.    Instructor, Anne Sobbota, has been working in fused glass for 25 years and is delighted to welcome students in her studio once again.  **Note: students will need to wear an N95 mask, provided by instructor, while using fiber paper.

Thurs. April 25, 2024 – Acrylic Painting, (Title TBA) with Jean Stephenson  $40  Materials, including canvas, paints and brushes, included.  Maximum of 6 students and a minimum of 4.   This class will meet at the Langlois Lions Club, located at 48135 Floras Lake Loop Road in Langlois.

Thurs. March 28 – Can You Clone an O’Keeffe? with Jean Stephenson  11:30-3:00   $40  Materials, including canvas, paints and brushes, included.  Maximum of 6 students and a minimum of 4.  Class will meet at the Langlois Lions Club at 48135 Floras Lake Loop Road in Langlois.

“The Printer’s Playground:  Soft Cut Carving and Printing”….

Soft-Cut printing is the first in a series of printmaking workshops that will be taught by Anne Sobbota.  This workshop introduces the art and techniques unique to designing and preparing soft printing surfaces.  Once created, participants will use water-soluable acrylic inks, to print their designs in single and multiple colors.

 Adults only.                 Cost $45                 Maximum  6 students, Minimum 4.

 All materials provided.  This class is taught by  Anne Sobbota and meets at her studio:  525 11th St. SE, Bandon.  Anne has taught many types of art classes, for over 30 years, and will be offering different printmaking workshops throughout the year.  Future workshops include: Collagraph and Mono-printing, Natural Sun Prints on Fabrics and Paper, Solar Plate Printing, and Linocut.

Fri. March 22 – "Sure You Can: Drawing for Those Who Say They Can’t”…..

Did you bury your sketchbook out behind the doghouse when the drawing of the dog looked more like the cat?…Do you:  second-guess every mark you make, feel frustrated when your drawings don’t match your vision, or the photograph you were copying, or the picture the person next to you drew?… Have you heard yourself saying “I’m not an Artist”, once, or a bunch?…Then it’s time to dig up and dust off that sketchbook; learn to have fun drawing, again, or maybe for the very first time. Simple lessons, lots of laughs, techniques to help build your drawing skills and confidence while you give your inner perfectionist a rest.

 All materials provided. This class is taught by Anne Sobbota and meets at her studio: 525 11th St. SE, Bandon. Anne has taught a variety of art classes for over 30 years and will be offering drawing workshops throughout the year. Each class will cover different lessons that vary in content and technique

March 7 – Micro Mosaic Pendant with Wire Linked Chain  with Anne Sobbota  Create a beautiful glass mosaic pendant, then learn to forge and link wire for a handcrafted chain.  9:00-2:00  $95  All materials provided.  Minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 5.  Adults only.  This class will meet at Anne’s Studio at 525  11th St,  SE. in Bandon.

Thurs. Feb. 29 – A Challenge Class  with Jean Stephenson   Students will create their own composition using only three colors.  11:30-3:00  $45  All materials provided.  Minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 6.  This class will take place at the Langlois Lions Club, located at 48135 Floras Lake Loop Road
