I am a native Oregonian and self-taught artist. Creating close up, intimate portraits of birds and wildlife is my passion. Having a subject come to life on paper is deeply satisfying and endlessly fascinating.

Watercolor is my medium of choice because of its versatility. It can be ethereal, dynamic, lush or stark as needed. Watercolor painting requires careful planning and allows no second chances. It has taught me precision and patience.

My projects reflect my appreciation for the birds and animals of the Pacific Northwest, especially those at risk. My portfolio also reflects a deep love of the Pacific coastline, the lighthouses that stand guard over it and the birds that patrol it, I have painted many of the lighthouses on the Northern California and Oregon coasts. My work is sold at some of the lighthouses and the profits support the volunteer groups who care for the lights.
